Family Friendly Back Garden

This County Down back garden has to contend with the demands of a busy family life that includes children and a dog. In particular, the dog urine had caused patches of grass to die, while the trampoline was also destroying the grass and proving difficult to mow around. The simple solution was to install an artificial grass surface that could provide a mud free play environment, and also a pet friendly outdoor space.

Stages of installation:

  • Existing lawn removed to a maximum depth of 60mm.
  • Following the existing levels, a grit sand base was laid and compacted to provide drainage.
  • Heavy duty geotextile weed membrane fitted to prevent any weeds or mud coming through in the future.
  • Artificial grass laid and dressed with sand in-fill; ready for all the family!
